ミシュランの“Magazine”は旅のアイデアの宝庫

当欄でも、「ヨーロッパ42カ国のレストラン情報を網羅したViaMichelin 」http://d.hatena.ne.jp/Europedia/20040403や「旅行計画作りに役立つルート・プランナー」http://d.hatena.ne.jp/Europedia/20040419でミシュランのホームページViamichelinが旅行計画に役立つことを紹介してきたが、その貴重な情報源“Magazine”を見過ごしていた。
Magazineは、Viamichelin http://www.viamichelin.co.uk/の無料配信メールマガジンに掲載されているものだが、膨大なバックナンバーをMagazine Contents http://www.viamichelin.com/viamichelin/gbr/tpl/mag4/cov/htm/MaMagazineCover.htmとMagazine Archives 　http://www.viamichelin.com/viamichelin/gbr/tpl/mag4/cov/htm/MaMagazineIssueList.htmのページで閲覧することができる。それぞれ、自動車旅行に関連するOn the road、旅行に役立つIT関連記事を取り上げるNew technology and mobility 、旅行とグルメのトレンドを紹介するTourism and Gastronomyの３項目に記事が分類されている。
　Contentsのページにはサム・ネイル画像と共に最新号の記事が紹介されており、現在On the roadには76th Geneva International Motor Show 、New technology and mobilityには Satellite radio for Europe too? 、The return of the electronic book 、Tourism and GastronomyにはAntwerp specialities and fine restaurants 、Exceptional March tides in the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel! などの記事が紹介されている。
バックナンバーを集めたArchives のTourism and Gastronomyには、Innsbruck: two kinds of skiing holiday、Prague, a bridge between East and West、A tour of Beaujolais、European Christmas markets、Paris - mightier than The Da Vinci Code!、The French coast: plan your holidays by the sea、Budapest or how to appreciate the Danube pearl、Turin: a gourmet's paradiseといった興味深い記事が並んでいた。
なお、Viamichelin上でミシュラン・レッドガイドブックのコンテンツを無料公開する“The Michelin Guides”のRestaurantsの項http://www.viamichelin.com/viamichelin/gbr/dyn/controller/Restaurantsを開いてみたが、今日現在は最新の2006年版の内容に切り替わっていなかった。おそらく、ミシュラン・レッドガイドブック2006年版の正式発売日である3月15日以降にヴァージョン・アップされるのだろう。なお、“The Michelin Guides”の閲覧は無料だがMy ViaMichelin account の登録が必要だ。
